Adams Place For Kids, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization formed in 2003 by Bremen, Indiana, veterinarian Dr. Chris Peterson, owner of St. Francis Family Pet Health Care, to give homeless, neglected and at-risk children a solid chance to grow up in a secure, stable faith-filled environment.

Dr. Chris bought the property - two large buildings and a small cottage with a large lakefront lot - overlooking Lake of the Woods in Bremen in 1999. It was named Adams Place for Bob and Thelma Adams, who owned it and, appropriately, raised their nine children there.

Holly Sante, Dr. Chris's friend and associate at APFKI, who is also a veterinary technician at St. Francis, is the head of APFKI's horsemanship program. Holly attended a six-week course at the Parelli School of Natural Horsemanship in January and February of 2006. She uses her knowledge of natural horsemanship to help children to safely learn how to communicate with horses on the ground and in the saddle.

APFKI performs regular service within their communities.

We want to be open to expansion throughout the United States - for branches to form with others who feel a similar call toward service to children and living in community, and faith.
